Reading & articles

Use the category links in the navigation or on the homepage to browse by theme (e.g. Technology, Business, Culture). You can also use the search icon in the header to run a semantic search across all our articles, with optional AI synthesis and related reads.

Some in-depth articles are marked premium. Full access requires a one-time purchase (or a subscription, if we offer it). The preview and metadata are always free so you can decide whether the piece is worth unlocking. Payment is handled securely via Paystack (GHS).

Sharing links to our articles is encouraged. Republishing full text, translations, or significant excerpts requires permission. Contact us via the Contact page with the article URL and your intended use; we respond to republication and licensing requests promptly.

Read time is estimated from the article body length and average reading speed. It appears in the byline so you can plan how long a piece will take. Actual time may vary depending on your reading pace and whether you follow linked sources.


Account & login

No. All free articles are available without signing in. An account is required to access your library of purchased articles, manage billing, follow authors, comment, and receive notifications.

Confirmations are sent via Resend. Check your spam and promotions folders and the email address you entered. If it’s still missing, try signing up again or use the "Sign in" flow to request a new link. If the problem persists, contact us and we’ll help resolve it.

On the sign-in page, use the "Forgot password" option (or the equivalent link). You’ll receive an email with instructions to set a new password. If you don’t see it, check spam and ensure the address matches your account.


Premium & payments

We use Paystack for payments and accept major cards and other methods supported by Paystack in your region (e.g. GHS in Ghana). All transactions are processed securely; we do not store your full card details.

Yes. After a successful purchase we send a receipt to the email address associated with your account. You can also view your purchase history in your account under billing or library.

Refund policy is set out in our Terms of Use. In general, we consider refund requests for technical failures or duplicate charges. Contact us with your transaction details and we’ll respond in line with our terms.


Newsletter

Use the newsletter signup form on the homepage or in the footer. Enter your email and confirm subscription if we use a double opt-in. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any newsletter email.

We send the newsletter on a regular schedule (e.g. weekly or as we publish). The frequency is stated in the signup flow or in the footer. We don’t spam; every email includes an unsubscribe option.


Comments & community

Registered users can comment on articles. Comments are threaded: you can reply to the article or to another comment. We moderate for civility and relevance; comments may be held for review or removed if they violate our guidelines.

We use guidelines and, where applicable, automated tools to keep discussions on topic and respectful. If your comment was removed, it may have been flagged as off-topic, abusive, or otherwise against our policy. We don’t discuss individual moderation decisions in detail, but you can contact us for general guidance.


Privacy & cookies

We collect only what we need to run the site and improve it: account data (email, name, password hash), usage data (e.g. pages visited, purchases), and, with consent, analytics. Details are in our Privacy Policy. We don’t sell your personal data.

On first visit you’ll see a cookie banner. You can accept all, essential only, or open "Manage" to choose categories (e.g. Analytics, Preferences). You can change your choices anytime via "Cookie Settings" in the footer or on the Cookie Policy page.


Contact & submissions

Use the Contact form for general enquiries, story tips, corrections, and republication requests. We read every message and aim to respond within a few business days. For press or partnerships, use the same form and select or note the nature of your enquiry.

Submissions are stored securely and handled by our team. Contact messages are used only to respond to you. Career and "Write for us" applications are processed in line with our recruitment and contributor processes, as described on the Careers and Write for us pages.


Careers & contributing

Read our Write for us page for contributor guidelines, tone, and what we commission. Submit your pitch or application through the form there. We review submissions regularly and will get in touch if we’d like to take the conversation further.

We list open roles on the Careers page. Positions may be full-time, part-time, or contract depending on the role. Apply via the Careers form and, where applicable, upload your CV. We respond to shortlisted candidates.


Technical & accessibility

Try a hard refresh (Ctrl+F5 or Cmd+Shift+R), clear cache, or use another browser or device. If the issue persists, note the page URL and what you were doing and contact us. We’ll investigate and, if the problem is on our side, work to fix it quickly.

We aim to meet accessibility best practices so the site is usable with screen readers, keyboard navigation, and other assistive tech. If you hit a barrier, please tell us via the Contact form so we can improve.

We offer an embed option for some articles: a compact iframe with excerpt and a "Read full article" link. Use the "Embed" button in the share bar on the article page to copy the snippet. Full republishing still requires permission (see Reading & articles).
