Contact us

We are a small editorial team and every message is read by a person. That means we can be direct, and it means we ask you to be specific.

Nothing here is filtered by a bot or triaged through a support tier. The clearer you are about what you need, the faster we can give you a useful answer.

We answer editorial enquiries within three to five working days. Where a matter is time-sensitive, such as a tip with an imminent deadline or a request to respond to a claim before we publish, say so at the top of your message and we will prioritise it.

The contact form is not yet live on the rebuilt site. Until it is, please use the address published alongside your enquiry type below. This page will carry the form as soon as the submissions service behind it is deployed.

Story tips and editorial enquiries

Use this route if you hold information about a story, a document you believe is in the public interest, expertise directly relevant to something we have published, or a correction to a specific article.

A useful tip tells us what you know or observed in your own words rather than in the form of a press release, gives the context that makes it significant, and says whether you are willing to speak to an editor. You do not need a complete picture. Tips routinely lead somewhere we did not expect. You do need to be clear about what you know directly and what you have heard from someone else, because the two are handled very differently.

If confidentiality matters, say so in your first message rather than later. We take source protection seriously and we would rather know before you have told us anything sensitive.

Corrections

If you believe we have published something factually wrong, tell us what the piece says, what you believe is correct, and how you know. Every message of this kind is reviewed by an editor rather than by whoever is nearest.

Our corrections policy, including what we correct silently and what carries a permanent notice, is set out in full on the process page.

Republication and licensing

We consider republication case by case and we do not grant blanket syndication licences. Any republication must carry full attribution, the original publication date and a link to the canonical piece on this site. Premium pieces are not available for republication without a separate agreement.

For speaking, commissioned research or an editorial partnership, tell us the context, the organisation or event, and the expected audience. It saves an exchange of messages.

Account and membership

For a question about your membership, billing or account access, include the email address the account is registered to. Without it we cannot look anything up, and asking for it is the most common reason a reply takes longer than it should.

Anything else

For questions about our editorial remit, our coverage, our ownership or how we are funded, simply ask. We are transparent about how this publication is governed and paid for, and we would rather answer than have it guessed at.
